Dustie Michael (Nickname is: The Boss Man)

Dustie has fourteen years in the automotive trade, beginning in his early teens when he worked for a local carburetor rebuilding facility. He graduated from UTI with honors and is an ASE Master Certified Technician with E.L.I.T.E. Mercedes training. Dustie spent many years with Mercedes Benz of Escondido before founding Escondido German Auto. Today you can still find Dustie at EGA, either repairing vehicles in the shop or helping customers in the office.

Dustie is a born technician, and making EGA the best independent Mercedes, Audi, VW, Porsche and BMW service center in existence is his passion. Dustie believes in doing business differently, in putting himself in customer’s shoes, in being open and honest, and always placing people above profit. Quality repair work is only the start at EGA. What sets us apart is what happens above and beyond the repair.

Derek McCubbin (Nickname is: The Rock)

Derek has thirteen years in the automotive profession. He graduated from UTI and became a Master Certified Technician at 21 years old. His career started at Hoehn Porsche where he received factory certifications and experience. Afterwards Derek moved to Symbolic Motors where he specialized and became certified in Bentley, and where he gained vast experience in Lamborghini, Ferrari, Spyker, Rolls Royce, Bugatti, Lotus, and Nobel.

Derek’s passion for automobiles is evident in nearly everything he does. During the week you can find him driving his supercharged VW R32 or 1987 VW Diesel Rabbit pickup to and from work. The weekends will often see him camping in his customized 1984 Westfalia. Derek embodies the core philosophies of Escondido German Auto, where expert repair and diagnosis are standard and exceptional customer service is our top priority.

Shane (Nickname is: Shanis)

Born and raised in the Escondido area, Shane began his career at the early age of 16.  He started out as an apprentice and has worked his way up to Technician.  Currently setting a goal to be a Master Technician within a years time.

Shane’s preferred vehicle of choice and specialty is Volkswagen and Audi.  He has also taken over the responsibility of our new Sprinter repair facility.  He is also known as our most thorough Technician.

Will G. (Nickname is: ‘lil-Will)

He graduated High School in 2011 with high honors. He was presented with multiple Skill USA awards. Has has placed in the TOP 3 at multiple National Auto Shop competitions held all over the United States. His natural ability for working on cars is an obvious trait.

After High School he has continued his Automotive Education at a local community college.

His Vehicle Preference is to work on Porsche.

His Hobbies include tinkering on cars and spending relaxing time at the beach with friends.

David (Nickname is: Diligent Dave)

Starting off as a customer, David brought his Volkswagen Jetta to us for service. He has continued his education after High School and is working towards his MBA. He is in charge of maintaining the shops clean appearance and completing our Miscellaneous tasks around the shop.

If you request a shuttle ride, chances are you’ll be catered to by David. We know him as the nicest guy we’ve ever met. I’m sure once you’ve met him, you’ll be saying the same thing.

His hobbies include his passion for music, concerts, the beach in the summer, and spending time with family on the weekends.

Alex (Nickname is: The Catalyst)

Being the new addition she is an up and coming star at EGA. Alex has had experience in the customer service field for more than 4 years and is a fun easy going advisor to work with.
She is great about bringing in authentic Mexican food to share with the team and shows off her giving kind hearted spirit. If you have a chance to speak with her , you will instantly feel that you’re in good hands.

Her Hobbies include spending time reading books, going to the desert, and spending time with her family.

 

Katrina

Katrina is the newest member to our team. She has had many different careers in her life, but has always had a love for cars and found enjoyment on working on them.  As an Escondido German Auto apprentice she has been given the chance to learn what it takes to not only learn the trade, but succeed with our 5 star team. She has a great attitude and shows a natural talent in mechanics.

In her spare time, Katrina likes to: read fiction novels, play video games,  and preparing for and volunteering for large events like Renaissance Faire and Wasteland Weekend.

Rob (the Technician)

Rob has always had a passion for cars, and it has only grown since entering the automotive industry in 2006. After graduating UTI he moved to Toyota where he quickly accepted new challenges, becoming Hybrid and Hydrogen vehicle certified. In 2013 he transitioned to the German vehicles with EGA. This move allowed him to continue growing in his career, and fall hopelessly in love with BMW. Even though German vehicles have entered his life he still enjoys the occasional stroll down the drag strip with his Mustang.
